A rare example of an historic renovation where the existing building, in spite of its wear and distress, is allowed to shine in the finished product. In many ways, updating the historic Washington Cracker Building into a mixed-use office, restaurant, and event space was a tough challenge. However, making sure the spaces had “character” and “texture” was easy since the owner was passionate about leaving as much of the existing qualities in place, celebrating the patina and stories that the building already had. We were fortunate to work with the the landlord as well as most of the tenants in crafting a cohesive and invigorating space for work and play.
