We looked at many houses with the client before finding this South Hill location. The site had an existing house, built in the 1970’s with Prairie Style architectural features. These features inspired us to develop the remodel after the craftsmanship of Frank Lloyd Wright’s early 1900’s style. The entire interior was rearranged, including removing the second story to create an amazing vaulted ceiling through the main living space and into the kitchen.

The interior palette consists of natural finished fir windows, doors and trim, oak cabinetry and flooring, and natural limestone tiles. This creates a very relaxed interior that is enhanced by three custom designed stained glass light fixtures. This 5000 square foot remodel provided the welcome challenge of re-creating a home within its modern context while respecting another era of craftsmanship.
