This 3300 square foot house is layed out in two wings, allowing the rooms to all have window walls. This house sits on slightly higher ground giving advantageous views from all windows. All of the living, dining, kitchen, and study areas on the east side have almost continuous windows with doors opening out to brick-walled, red concrete terraces shaded by huge pine trees overlooking the swimming pool below. The bedroom wing has three bedrooms and two baths connected by a long hall with continuous high windows and lower bookcases and display shelves running the hall’s full length.
The interior layout consists of long view lines connecting spaces and making the whole seem larger and definitely more interesting spacially. The coffered ceilings with indirect lighting all around, the colors of the furniture and carpet, the deep red concrete floors, the v.g. fir cabinetry, and the repetitive rows of windows and doors all harken back to early 1950’s Frank Lloyd Wright style. This house had a very cohesive and restrictive design directive from the owners which resulted in this strong and assured statement.
